Legendary Rapper Heavy D Has Passed

Heavy D, the former leader of the hip-hop group Heavy D and the Boyz, has died at the age of 44. The rapper was rushed to a hospital in Los Angeles earlier this afternoon and was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. PT. Police are investigating his death but there are no signs of foul play.

Heavy D, born Dwight Arrington Myers, broke into the music industry with Living Large, his first record with the Boyz, in 1987. He went on to even greater success with the hit "Now That We Found Love" in 1991, and recorded theme songs for the television series In Loving Color and MADtv. In recent years, D recorded a series of reggae fusion albums. (source)

Daley is definitely a breath of fresh air for those of us searching for new artist with REAL talent! 

The  up and coming singer/songwriter from Manchester, England spent his teenage years honing his craft and recording tracks in his bedroom while listening to artists such as Imogen Heap, Jill Scott, Maxwell and Prince for inspiration.

After moving to London last year at the age of 21, Daley began building a name for himself performing in clubs and caught the attention of Damon Albarn, frontman for The Gorillaz, who watched Daley’s performance of Maxwell’s “Pretty Wings”.

R&B trio Total made their first appearance singing the hook on The Notorious B.I.G.'s debut single, "Juicy". Garnering attention for the new group, they were also featured on the original version and "Hip Hop Remix" of his next single "One More Chance". They then immediately hit the studio with Bad Boy Records CEO Sean "Puffy" Combs and began work on their debut album. The first single "Can't You See?", had The Notorious B.I.G. returning the favor with a guest rhyme, the single peaked at #13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and entered the top ten of the R&B Charts. Mary J. Blige (Mr. Wrong ft Drake)

Mary J. Blige has released the second single, "Mr. Wrong," from her 10th studio release, My Life II . . . the Journey Continues.

The track features Drake in the role of Mr. Wrong:

"Don't it seem like I'm always there when it matters, but missing most of the other time, a terrible pattern."

The song was written and produced by Jim Jonsin and Rico Love; the latter told RapUp.com that the song was, in some ways, autobiographical.

"It's an extremely soulful song that expresses the true level of love that a woman can have for a man who simply is no good for her," he said. "I wrote it because in many ways I am Mr. Wrong."

My Life II is due November 21.

JoJo Tributes Aaliyah & Amy Winehouse

 Twenty year old singer Jo Jo was caught tributing in Detroit paying tribute to the late great Amy Winehouse and Aaliyah at the Hard Rock Cafe.
 The singer delivered a stunning acoustic rendition of Amy’s ‘You Know I’m No Good’ from the critically acclaimed ‘Back to Black’ album. She also did her thing with a dope medley of the late Aaliyah's hit singles ‘Are You That Somebody?’, ‘One in a Million". Im excited about JoJo's return and she is definitely an amazing vocalist.
