SHAD P REPRESENTS FOR QUEENS

"Every Rapper claims to be the best in his city and town, but with talent, drive, and confidence Shad P gains the right to proclaim himself, 'The Next Best Thing Out Of Queens!' Keep your ears open and watch how this Queens native works the game to his advantage!"

Shad P aka Rashad Phillips was born on October 15, 1987 in Brooklyn, NY. Moving to Queens, along with his younger sibling, he was raised in a two-parent home. Music was a prominent influence in the way that he was raised. Like many others, he had hoop dreams and basketball was his first love. Back in the days, at the age of 17, Shad P. started rap battles in the locker rooms and hallways of John Adams HS. It wasn’t until he noticed his true talent and love for mc-ing, that he decided to take his music seriously. It was then, when he realized his first love of basketball had become just a chapter down his Memory Lane.

Shad P was greatly influenced by fellow rappers: Mase, Jay-Z, Biggie & surprisingly enough, R&B crooner, Bobby Brown. His plans are to be one of the most influential rappers of his time, rather than being another typical rapper. For some, the chances are small, however, with a talent as distinctive as his, competition is slim to none. His main goal is to go down in history as one of the leading artists known to mankind.

"Quality over Quantity,” Shad P’s first mix-tape, was released to the public in August of 2009 and allowed him to gain a great amount of local buzz. Passing his mix-tape to any and everybody, even making home deliveries, his fans were now able to put a face to the smooth voice and comical word play Shad P. believes in being truthful in his music. He doesn't rap about things he hasn't been through or experienced. In the near future Shad P not only intends to be successful locally, but to be known as a household name across the nation. Only then will his lyrical dreams become reality permitting him to take his victory lap.
